"My dad had his insurance through Tod for years and never filed a claim. When he passed away in July, I contacted Tod and asked if there was anything I needed to do about his home insurance. I was told no that the house was covered. A few weeks later a pipe burst in the house. I called Tod again and was told to file my claim through the 800 number. They quickly denied my claim because I was never added to the policy and even with a Will and Trust, there was not an estate so they won’t honor the coverage. I called Tod and he told me he would call and that he had no idea that was something we needed to do. The receptionist had the audacity to ask if I wanted to set up a new policy to cover the home. Had I known the house wouldn’t be covered, I would have set up a policy and would have canceled the one my dad held. Not only did they keep the money paid for the policy, I am now out thousands of dollars on top of losing my dad. Tod didn’t even have the curtesy to tell me himself."
